I’ve just been listening to the interview with Jacqueline Rose at the Sydney Writers Festival, talking about her book, Women in Dark Times, and about three extraordinary women – German-Jewish painter Charlotte Salomon, revolutionary socialist Rosa Luxemburg and Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe – and their “the courage to bring the unspeakable to light”, and about the need for a “scandalous, untamed feminism”.
I haven’t read it yet (hence the title of this post), but I would like to. The interview was completely compelling, I had to sit in the car to listen to the last 20 minutes or so, when I should have been coming in to work (and now I’m writing this when I should be working, lol, so I don’t forget about it!
