I’ve been a bit quiet here lately, so let me give you a peak into what I’ve been reading (or what my kids have), and some reviews you can expect to see in the near future.
First, in the spirit of the Australian Women Writers Challenge (in which I have signed up for the Stella level this year), there are two new books by Australian new women writers, one for kids (Eliane, Ms Three, mostly, but Mikaela, Ms 6, enjoyed it too – kids just love to be read to, don’t they?), and one for adults.
Berty Button Gets a Team by Marina Bertolino is a picture book for young children.
Angela Lawrence’s debut novel, The Rules of Conception, is next on my list to read, and I’m looking forward to it.
Both of these were books the publishers contacted me about reviewing, and gave me free copies (electronic, in the case of Lawrence’s novel, because that’s how I read most adult novels these days). But don’t worry, you’ll still get a completely honest review.
And the third one on my list is It’s Not The Stork by Robbie Harris. This one I bought, after borrowing it from the library, and I’m going to review it just because I think it’s a great book, along with the later two in the series (for older children), It’s So Amazing & It’s Perfectly Normal.
Aside from those I’ve been reading A Lot of books on natural, DIY & non-toxic cleaning (yes, cleaning!), both for my own use and to help me create the best possible non-toxic cleaning printables for my laundry wall, and yours too, if you want them.
